You don’t have to travel far to experience magnificent countryside, fun activities, etc. The possibilities are many!

The hotel organises fun outings aboard a fishing boat, serving prawns, barbecue food and refreshments. If you want to “rough it”, we offer sea rafting – or how about kayaking on the river outside the Hotel?. “Friends of Flekkefjordbanen” is a club devoted to preserving the old railroad line from Sira to Flekkefjord. The club offers rail tricycling on the disused tracks – a highly popular activity, particularly in summer. Tourists can pedal at their own speed while enjoying the countryside and spectacular view. 

For golfers it’s not far to the Kvinesdal Golf Club’s links at Skaren. Named Norway’s most beautiful golf course, the facility is only 2.5 km away. For golfers seeking higher altitudes there’s Sirdal Fjellgolf at Kvæven, 10 km away. In Flekkefjord you can play tennis or take a dip in the indoor pool facility or outdoors at the various beaches and swimming holes.

Water sports
Combine swimming with water sports. Only a few kilometres away is the Rixen water sports facility offering cable-drawn waterskiing and wakeboarding. The cable course is Europe’s best and biggest – and is upgraded and improved continuously.

Hiking
The Flekkefjord and Omland Tourist Association offers hiking trips to local mountaintops among other places. The association’s trail maps are popular also among tourists.  A trip to the idyllic island of Hidra is simply a must. 

In the innermost part of the fjord lies the friendly town of Flekkefjord. Enjoy laid-back shopping or a leisurely stroll. The riverside amfi theatre between the coffee shop and pizza restaurant has a wading pool for children.  

Not all cities and towns have a star in the renowned Michelin Guide. Flekkefjord got its star in 2006. One or more stars in the Michelin Guide mean major status for a restaurant.
